Foot Reflexology
| Reflexology is the science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the hands and feet that correspond to all the organs, glands and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb, fingers and knuckles on these areas. It is believed to have originated in Egypt and is well known throughout the Asian countries. An inscription and painting on an Egyptian tomb from 2,330BC, shows patients receiving foot and hand reflexology, |

How does working on an area in the foot that represents an area in the body, help a particular problem?
| The link from the feet to the organs and glands in the body is a series of imaginary longitudinal lines each encompassing a zone. There are ten lines or zones, one for each finger and each toe. These zones run the entire length of the body. It is important to understand the anatomy associated with each particular zone of the body. An organ or gland found in a specific zone will have its reflex in the corresponding zone of the foot. Any sensitivity located in a specific area of the foot, infers that an organ could be 'unbalanced' or in a state of 'dis-ease'. Think of a flow of energy constantly running through the body. If that flow has been interrupted, blocked or unbalanced in some way, it is possible to find 'crystalline' deposits, areas of sensitivity, grainy areas in the base of the feet that correspond to the anatomical area in the body. |
